Mildred Ramokgopa found her passion for baking when baking for her family, having learnt the skills from her late grandmother who used to run a fast food store and training them to run the shop. Since she started baking in 2008, and selling to her community, she has never looked back.

Her journey in starting her business was not easy, as the community stigmatized baking services as a form of business, having been used to receiving baked goodies as a free gift from neighbors and not buying. With time, they started to support the business. Today, her bakery called Mametse Catering Projects (Pty) Ltd, which is operating at her home is well known in the community and loved by many. She ensures that the community gets the freshest and best baked goodies.

Her future aspirations is to operate the bakery in its own space and to employ people whose talents are often overlooked like her nephew who has autism and yet bakes exceptionally. Community development is her greatest passion.
