From Trauma to Triumph
Empowering Survivors, Strengthening Communities
Programme Duration: 12 Months
Focus Areas: Therapy | Facilitation | Skills Development | Amplifying your voice
Voninga Foundation’s Mental Health Wellness Programme is a year-long initiative designed to provide trauma healing, empowerment, and economic opportunities for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). Through art therapy using African jewellery-making, 20 GBV survivors will gain both emotional support and entrepreneurial skills, supported by mental health professionals and business incubation through our Business Connect platform. Survivors will also receive continued psychosocial care and mentorship as they launch their own community-based projects.
The programme also equips 20 First Responders from schools and churches with the legal knowledge and practical tools to handle GBV cases sensitively and effectively. A wider reach of 660+ community members will be achieved through digital awareness campaigns, storytelling via the Voninga Podcast, and community healing circles. By blending therapy, storytelling, legal empowerment, and enterprise, the programme fosters long-term healing and resilience for individuals and the broader community.
